Radiopharmacy

In the last two years the number of "medical" cyclotrons
internationally increased almost unexpectedly and indicates the boom of
radiopharmacy most impressingly. The idea of getting and keeping in contact
among the radiopharmaceutical labs has been under consideration as long as
radiopharmacy exists, but now it comes close to a necessity particularly since
so many new groups are starting in that area.
The radiopharmaceutical groups in Germany, Switzerland Austria and Denmark agreed to list their tracers
with the aim to enhance direct contacts between the groups. The reason for that
initiative was that, sooner or later, many labs have to meet the need of
preparing an "old" tracer. Although well-known setting up the synthesis may
turn out to be a tedious and thus time consuming work. But a discussion
directly with a colleague doing that synthesis may blow off the problem within
a minute.
Therefore we highly encourage other international colleagues to join us actively.
In a second step we plan to add laboratory recipes to
which other groups hopefully contribute with their observations and
improvements. Thus we like to establish a market for communication about "old
stuff". Please, participate actively, it will be of benefit for all of us.
